Visit to CKIC Factory in Changsha
At the invitation of CKIC, director Maurice Wicks, Technical engineer Uurtsaikh Dagvatseren and Bilguun Wicks visited their offices and manufacturing facilities in Changsha, Hunan Province, to learn more about their operations, product range, production processes, and future direction. The company’s history, current strategy, and the team’s ambition to remain a leader in their field left a strong impression.
CKIC is a global leader in laboratory automation and analytical instrumentation, recognised for its advanced solutions in coal, minerals, biomass, and food analysis.
It was remarkable to see how CKIC has grown—from a small manufacturer of laboratory measurement instruments to a recognised developer of complex automated robotic systems. Their progress clearly reflects years of perseverance, discipline, and continuous innovation. Despite this success, the team remains humble, professional, and exceptionally welcoming, demonstrating a strong culture of unity and integrity in business relationships.
Over the past 30 years, CKIC has developed dozens of instruments, among which several stood out: calorimeters, fully automated coal robotic laboratories, sample preparation equipment, XRF fusion furnaces, acid digestion systems, and a range of environmental and food laboratory instruments. Each product reflects the team’s technical creativity and intellectual property—designed to be efficient, user‑friendly, highly productive, and fully compliant with safety standards.

At the conclusion of our visit, we discussed potential collaboration opportunities. Following a detailed review of CKIC’s product portfolio and the information provided, both parties agreed to continue negotiations on establishing R5 Outcomes as CKIC’s strategic representative for Australia and New Zealand. R5 Outcomes engineer Bilguun remained at the factory to receive a 14‑day training program, allowing him to study the products in detail and learn the maintenance procedures and operational requirements.
